    Bruce has been an avid boatbuilder and sailor since youth. He launched his first boat, built in his parents garage, before he graduated high school. He then spent time working in the Nova Scotian boatbuilding industry, slowly fostering his love for composite and wooden boats before starting Tern Boatworks in 2004.

    Manager

    Neil began his career building and repairing fibreglass components for marine use and otherwise. Wishing to expand his abilities he decided to pursue an Apprenticeship in traditional wooden boat construction at The Apprenticeshop School in Rockland, ME. Upon completion he returned home to Nova Scotia to work with various boatbuilders around the province before starting with Tern in 2007.

  • Nick Bigeau Manager Tern Boatworks

    Nick Bigeau

    Manager

    Nick received a diploma in wooden boatbuilding from the Silva Bay Shipyard School on Gabriola Island in 2008 and then continued with a practical apprenticeship at the Crinan Boatyard in Scotland, UK. Having an interest for working with different materials he developed a love for advanced composites while working in the aerospace industry before starting at Tern in 2016. Bringing new building techniques and composite construction methods to Tern, Nick is now the head of R&D and material development.
